- Posted on: Jan 3 2016
On December 31, 2015, the law firm of Held & Hines LLP filed a class action lawsuit in United States District Court, the Eastern District Court of New York, on behalf of drivers who drive or used to drive for Uber in New York. There are approximately 40,000 Uber drivers in the State of New York. Uber drivers are not being treated fairly by their billion-dollar employer. Uber drivers are forced to pay for their car expenses, repairs to their car and health insurance. Uber drivers are also forced to share 30% of their tips with their employer, are only reimbursed 70% of the tolls paid during their employment, and are not paid extra monies for working overtime in violation of New York State law.
